There are lots of posts about ergonomic work setups but few that are nomad compatible, so here is one on hardware that easily folds into a small laptop bag, with the less obvious items described below.
### Charging
My biggest pain when travelling was charging my devices. I replaced the MacBook Pro 16 inches huge converter with the [Anker Prime charging station](https://www.anker.com/products/a9128-6-in-1-charging-station?ref=naviMenu&variant=42691854336150), since it also reaches 140W charging, but also has 2 USB-C, 2 USB-A, and 2 US style plugs, which means that combining it with a single adapter solves 100% of my charging needs.
You can go even more minimal with this [Anker charger](https://www.anker.com/products/a2340?ref=naviMenu&variant=41974288777366).
### **Second screen**
iPads don’t require any cable to be used as a Mac second screen and double as good sketching devices if you have the Apple Pen.
Also, all my physical therapists advised me to put the 2nd screen above the first instead of one the side, which requires a taller and heavier stand. I use [this one](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Viozon-Adjustable-High-Grade-Aluminium-Compatible-Black/dp/B08R3L8RY4?currency=USD), which isn’t great but does the job.
### Microphone
Moving with a mic was too much hassle so I reverted to using the MacBook Pro built-in microphone. Note: as of 2024-01, the built-in mic is significantly better than the AirPods’, and even more so in high background noise environments.

### **Webcam**
I use [this device](https://www.apple.com/us/shop/product/HQ642ZM/A/belkin-iphone-mount-with-magsafe-for-mac-notebooks) to turn my iPhone into my webcam, which is much better as you can see below:
- Default MacBook Pro 16inches M1 camera

- Using the iPhone Pro Max 14

The main downside is that Macs don’t support both using a second screen and a iPhone webcam at the same time, so I disconnect my second screen during calls.
### **CO2 monitor**
A lot of hotels have surprisingly poor ventilation systems, so I use a CO2 monitor ([more here](https://twitter.com/SudoCorentin/status/1733805064358420694)).
